JANUARY
• January 28: 10:30AM. "Sea Captain's Video"
Sam Nickerson, the grandson of a sea captain, with several friends produced this humorous video
on the life of a sea captain. (free)
FEBRUARY
• February 6 - April 17. Exhibit, "MATTERS OF THE HEART Historic Valentines 1820 - 1950"
Over two hundred valentines depicting the types and transitions of expressions of love when it
came to the matters of the heart. (admission)
• February 6, 2PM. "Fancy Nancy Valentine Tea Party"
Dress fancy and join us for an elegant tea party. Ages 4 and up. Seating limited. (admission fee)
• February 10, 10:30AM. Scripophily Lecture. "Is my old stock certificate valuable?"
The museum will be presenting a talk on historic and antique stocks and bonds. This talk can be
thought of as a local version of the PBS broadcast, "Antiques Roadshow" for financial
documents. The presentation addresses the talk's title question in an interactive, informative,
and entertaining fashion. Attendees are encouraged to "show and tell"their own stock
certificates. (free)
• February 25, 10:30AM. "EARLY CAPE ARCHITECTURE"
This presentation will examine the interiors and exteriors of early Cape Cod homes. The designs,
what were the purposes of the choices made, how much was function versus aesthetic. (free)

• March 23. "MUSEUM VISIT FOR DOCENTS", Bangs Hallet House;
Meet at museum at 9:30 AM. Lunch to follow at Old Yarmouth Inn.
• March 27, 1 - 3PM. "TEN MOST COMMON DECORATING MISTAKES"
Decorator Michelle Jacoby talks about those common decorating mistakes. Lunch is included.

• April 24: 1 - 3PM. "VICTORIAN HIGH TEA"
A high tea with a presentation of "what it took the Victorian lady to get ready for her day".
Explanations and illustrations of dress, hairstyles, scents, accessories, and more.

MAY
• May 1: 2PM. "Fancy Nancy Tea Party"
In time for May Day, a tea party for young girls, four years and up. Come fancy! Fun with crafts,
special food treats, story telling, a fancy parade, and more. Members $20, Nonmembers $25.
• May 6: 9AM - 4PM. "Bus Trip - Johnson & Wales University Museum of Culinary Arts and Hospitalityquot;
Join us as we travel to Johnson & Wales to explore their collection of 70,000 objects and five centuries
of culinary treasures! The bus will leave at 9 AM from the Our Lady of Assumption parking lot in
Osterville and returns by 4 PM. Lunch is included. Members $55, Nonmembers $60. Advanced paid
reservations required.
JUNE
• June 4: 6 - 8PM. "Sea Captains and Ladies Soiree"
This special event is hosted by and held at The Captain David Kelley House, 539 Main Street, Centerville.
Join us for an early evening lawn and veranda soiree. Live music, great victuals and tasty libations.
Formal dress encouraged: gentlemen as sea captains with beards and ladies in fine frocks.
Advanced paid reservations by May 25; Members $25, Nonmembers $30.

AUGUST
• August 6: 5 - 7PM. "Centerville Landmarks" Exhibit - Opening Reception
• August 7 - 15: "Centerville Old Home Week"
• August 13: 7PM. Lecture - "First Old Home Week 1904"
Barbara Fahrenholz will be discussing the history and planning of the first Old Home Week in 1904.
This topic includes some of the relevant events of this weeklong celebration. Some specific discussions
include the families of Main St. Centerville, the Wequaquet Lake outdoor events, the Grand Ball at
Howard Hall, and Church services and activities. This first Old Home Week celebrated the reunion of
the sons and daughters who moved away in the early 20th Century. Members $3, Nonmembers $6.
• August 14: 10AM & 11:30AM . "Main Street Walking Tour"
Take the walking tour of Main Street Centerville with architect Ralph Tolbert. This tour will give
you all the insights into the homes along Main Street and will be the perfect introduction to the
exhibit "Centerville's Landscapes: Images of Continuity and Change". Members $2, Nonmembers $4.
• August 14. "5th Annual Yard Sale"
Our 5th annual Yard Sale will be held during Centerville's Old Home Week. Please donate any items you
no longer need or want, including bric-a-brac, antiques, small furniture, collectibles, artwork, old
jewelry, etc. Please no clothing, electronics, or damaged items. Items will be accepted at the museum
July 31, August 3, 4, and 5.
